What the f*** is the world wide web? Now that is one good question. Google defines it as "an information-sharing system built on top of the internet, allowing documents and multimedia to be linked and accessed via browsers" in other words its a complicated web of information thrown onto the internet for all to see. My understanding of the internet and the web was quite shallow and basic at the beginning of this class. But after a semesters worth of exploration in the world wide web, I've learned that it is a truly free forum for information spreading with hidden corners and secret caves right under your fingertips. This is exemplified through Maya Man's public google doc that she leaves in the console of her website or in personal portfolios that hide details through the design.

Going beyond the physical aspect of the makeup of the web, the world wide web is also a space for design and creation that is accessible to all. The world wide web runs on websites created using HTML, CSS, and Javascript, among other coding languages. As we learned this semester, these coding languages are quite simple to use and learn but they unlock a whole slew of resources and creative mediums for thinkers, creators, artists, and more to express themselves and their work on the world wide web. This helps build the infrastructure of the internet which the world wide web is a critical part in making.

The world wide web is a forum, it's infrastructure, it's art, and it's so much more as it enables us to create and present ourselves.
